Annual Concert 2008
The Choir are eagerly looking forward to their Annual Concert at West Bromwich Town Hall on 17th May, where they will be joined by their Guests, the Junior Festival Choir and Youth Choir from Walsall Forest Arts.
This concert is always the highlight in the Choir's calendar, where New Music is always introduced for the 1st time to our Audience. This year, come and enjoy items such as When I'm 64, Bridge Over Troubled Water, No Matter What (from Whistle Down the Wind), Paul Simon's "The Sound of Silence" as well as music from James Bond - For Your Eyes Only.
It should be a Fantastic Night of Music! Please come along and support us and our guest choirs! The Concert starts at 7.00pm and tickets (priced at £8.00) are available from Norman Smith who can be contacted on 0121 558 2966.

The London Marathon...
He’s done it!
The choir’s MD, Steve Allen successfully completed the 2008 London Marathon.

In doing so, Steve has raised approximately £1600 for charity.
Our congratulations go to him on his sterling effort, grit and determination to complete this torturous feat of endurance.

The Choir Welcomes...
Two new members made their debut performance on Saturday 5th April at the concert held at St. Paul’s Church, Blackheath. They are Graham Roberts (left) and Dennis Buckle.

And at the same concert, the guest soloist was the baritone, David Hadley with his accompanist, Sue Diamond. Click here for some concert photos...

Joining The Choir
Can you sing? Or read music? Quite a few choir members couldn’t when they first joined the choir. It isn’t a prerequisite to be able to read music (but it helps!).
Would you like to take part in concerts at venues such as Symphony Hall or Gloucester Cathedral?

About the Choir

The Warley Male Choir was formed in 1943 by a group of air raid wardens and has grown to become known and respected throughout the Midlands. Warley is in the West Midlands, situated between Dudley and Birmingham, in the borough of Sandwell.
Musical Director - Steve Allen
Most of our concerts are given in aid of charity and the choir has raised many thousands of pounds over the years. The majority of our concerts are given in the Midlands, but the choir has also performed in Germany, France, Belgium, and Holland, as well as many times in Wales, including visits to the International Eisteddfod at Llangollen. The choir has also toured Devon and Cornwall on three occasions, raising money for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution.
